WIN AWARD WINNER 2006

This year's honoree was Donna Jacobs, U.S. WIN Member and Vice President of Nuclear Services at PG&E's Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant in San Luis Obispo, California. Donna has long been an active member and a supporter of WIN – speaking at conferences (she presented the state of the industry in 2001, and opened the 2004 conference); leading a breakout session on career development (in 2003); and moderating a panel on the nuclear safety culture (2005). At each presentation, Jacobs' industry experiences, personal warmth, and obvious commitment to helping others succeed has garnered respect and admiration from women in a variety of different roles and companies – many of whom she has mentored through the years. As this years honoree, Donna's acceptance speech and personal remarks reflected her continuing commitment to the industry, to WIN, and to her family, who accompanied her to the conference. The openness, honesty, warmth, and sincerity of Donna's comments made the evening meaningful and memorable for everyone. At the close of her remarks she received a standing ovation from the audience.
